Acai Bowl Recipe

Acai bowls are extremely high in antioxidants, great for the digestive system, high in potassium, calcium, vitamin A and very high in fibre. Acai is known as the wonderberry of the Amazon. It is rich in flavour with hints of blackberry and some taste hints of chocolate. It’s extremely high in calcium, in fact, its one of the highest sources of plant-based calcium which contributes to the normal functioning of digestive enzymes. It’s also high in vitamin A and potassium which contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

INGREDIENTS:

2 frozen bananas
1 cup frozen blueberriees
1 tablespoon of agave -nectar syrup
1/4 cup almond milk
1 heaped scoop raw sport  berry flavour protein (vegan protein powder)

METHOD:

BLEND.

The vegan protein powder adds plant power and probiotic boost.

For the granola on top:
50g Hazelnuts
60g almonds
40g pumpkin seeds
40g sunflower seeds
20g chia seeds
15g hempseeds
20g coconut chips
5g cacao powder
5g maca powder
1 tbsp mulberries
BNUTZ cacao and hazelnut butter or some may prefer to use BNUTZ espresso nut butter

Preheat the oven to 190c
Toast the nuts and seeds very lightly until slightly brown, approximately 7minutes. Add everything except the BNUTZ butter.
Toast again for 5 minutes
Add BNUTZ butter.
place back in the oven for a couple of mins, keep mixing (warning, the recipe can be easy to burn!)
